Surgical Services We Offer

Minimally Invasive Bariatric (Weight Loss) Surgery

If you are severely overweight and have tried everything imaginable to lose weight through onventional means such as dieting, exercise, behavior therapy, and/or drugs, but have been unsuccessful in your
attempts, then weight loss surgery may be right for you.

Dr. Kuldeep Singh, MDPA and his office specializes in bariatric surgery (weight loss surgery) for morbidly obese patients. We also offer advance laparoscopic surgery for other gastrointestinal disorders.

We perform the following minimally invasive Restrictive and Malabsorptive weight loss surgeries:

Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Banding (LAP-BAND / Realize Band) - LAP-BAND® is a specific brand of adjustable gastric band used by many surgeons. LAP-BAND® was approved for use by the FDA in 2001
and according to the manufacturer has been placed into more than 190,000 patients. Realize Band is made by Ethicon and has been placed in USA since 2008. It has been used in Europe over 10-15 years.
* Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy- A procedure that removes 90% of the stomach and leaves a small portion of the stomach as a conduit.

Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass (Roux-en-Y)- This is the most commonly performed weight loss surgery today, making up approximately 50% of all weight loss surgeries in the United States.

* Biliopancreatic Diversion with Duodenal switch (BPD-DS) - Limits the quantity of food that the body can digest and absorb. It is a big operation with higher associated complications but with best weight loss results.

* Revisional Bariatric Surgery- Uncommon surgery for patients who have had bariatric surgery performed in the past and are either gaining weight or have stopped losing weight. It is also needed
sometimes for some complications of the weight loss surgery.

Our integrated care, excellent outcomes, and team approach to morbid obesity has been recognized by all major health care insurance programs in Maryland. We have been appointed as Center of Excellence for
Bariatric Surgery by SRC (Surgical Review Committee) since 2006.
